Bike trip - 27 July - Angarsk town

Angarsk town is 56-years-old. This is a young, modern and clean town with 281,2 thousand people. It is located in 40 km from Irkutsk town, the regional centre. Irkutsk is our next stop. After a month of traveling along vast lands of Russia the third shift of members of the Expedition will leave for homes.

A new team will arrive at Irkutsk (the fourth shift) – people devoted to God. Despite a hot day rather many people gathered together in the Victory square. In order to find shelter from a hot son, people scattered all over a big square. There were listeners but it seemed to us that there were no people there as they were hiding from the sun. Only a few people were in front of the stage. They say it was easy to get sunstroke. Two girls left to find shelter. I also wanted to leave the hot stage. If I have a sunstroke? But suddenly I remembered the following Bible verse: « The sun shall not smite thee by day», and I felt sudden cool. During two next hours, paying no attention to the sun, like in previous days, we told people about endless mercy and love of God. We were rewarded for it. We formed small groups and talked to people, who were ready to accept the Gospel. We prayed with them and invited them to the church.

P.S. There were many home ministry officers at the evangelistic meeting. They were there to keep public order. We did not notice any outraged or riotous people there. It seemed to us that only peaceful people were there in the square. But the presence of officers testified for the fact that there are people in Angarsk who might cause trouble, and there could be many of such.
