Bike trip – August 17 – Bolshoy Never town

When I look at the schedule of our Expedition and our visits to the locations I sometimes ask myself a question – what expects us in a new place? Usually the current events of our schedule are quite similar – wake-up, prayer, breakfast, road, arrival, and evening meetings with people, dinner, prayer and sleep. The next day the same schedule. But behind these seemingly monotonous things there happens something, which one can not describe by words.

Invisible presence of God in each detail and our opportunity to see it and praise God tells us if we are close to our God and how sensitive we are to His work. It is true that it is easy for us to amaze at the fellowship with inhabitants of «Yerofey Ivanovich» town where so many adults and kids came. It was good to see their wish to listen to the Word of God, the wish to have the NT. Such things give us joy and inspire us even despite our weariness.

A rather long way was waiting us. There was no planned evening meeting and we were to wheel for a long time. We were to reach the village of Taldan, that we could reach it or get closer to it.

Departure was planned for 06:00 a.m. At about 04:00 a.m. rain began, but soon stopped. On one hand we needed rain to cover the dust. But if it rained for a long time then puddles will appear and our bikes and bikers will sink in dirt.

Coming up to the federal highway we again became sure of the mightiness and power of God, Who has everything in plenty. One could hardly expect better state of the road than that day. First, the rain allowed KAMAZ truck to go forward and it was easier for us to follow it. There was no dust.We continued our way comfortably. But soon sun began to shine brightly and we expected clouds of dust again. But no! We saw a small cloud which gave us rain again just enough to cope with the dust.

But it was only the beginning of miracles. We expected the day to be hot, but small clouds cover us during all our way. The state of the road allowed us to move rather quickly and at 14:00 we already covered 120 km. Leaving in the morning we though we would have to stop on our way and sleep in the forest. But we saw the care of our Lord. Two Christian men joined us to be with us in Amur region – Pavel Svetlov and Igor Molchanov. Igor is the Pastor in Taldan village and he visits believers in the near-by villages. There are several groups of believers in the district. He said that we would visit the village of Bolshoy Never where a Christian man lives. We could stay there overnight.

So, after 168 km we arrived at the village. There used to be many warehouses there where shipments came for Yakutia and Magadan. Brother Alexander welcomed us very warmly and gave us shelter in his house. In the evening several Christian men and women came to see us. We had a nice fellowship and told them what the Lord has done. We sang together and prayed and thanked our Lord for the wonderful things He did. There were 80 more kilometers to Taldan. But it will happen next day. We praise and thank God for this day!
